Cassandra Harris, CBC's founder and visionary, launched the company and website as an extension of her long-standing interests in diverse aspects of holistic-living, including:

Cassandra strategically blends her extensive professional education and experience as a registered nurse, and masters-prepared clinical nurse counselor, with her passionate and extensive holistic-living research and study. The result is the CBC product brand and lifestyle information found on this website.

Cassandra's profession brings her in close proximity to those suffering the effects of various physical maladies. She has enormous compassion for those in her care and within her sphere of influence. Compassion is indeed a hallmark of her efforts to contribute to their well-being. Her compassion extends also to the preventative side of medical care. Cassandra personally incorporates principles of holistic living while she seeks to educate and optimize the lifestyle of others. She credits her progressive personal and professional growth in part to the transformative effects of her lifestyle which includes:

She personally recognizes the importance a healthy and balanced lifestyle has on one's health and well-being. Her insights, gleaned from extensive research, into the harmful effects of toxic chemicals, additives, and preservatives found in many grocery foods and consumer products led her to make significant personal changes. This research path culminated in the development of CBC and this site.

Today, Cassandra, along with her devoted staff and affiliates, spends much of her time overseeing the growth of CBC. In spite of this significant demand, she still finds time for travel, bellydancing, a diverse exercise regimen, and other fun and creative pursuits. She indeed "practices what she preaches".

Cassandra points to a watershed moment that was pivotal in the transformation of her knowledge into the CBC product brand, business, and website. It occurred after she received a relaxing, spa facial treatment. Upon leaving the spa, she reflected about more natural facial treatment alternatives. So began her extensive research on facials, aromatherapy, bath and body products, among other subjects.

One book in particular, "Natural Soapmaking" by Marie Browning, presented several creative ideas to custom-make your own, more natural, bath and body products and was a catalyst in the formation of CBC. Her continuing research reinforced her knowledge of the harmful chemicals and ingredients found in many commercial-brand products. Since she was already particular about what she "put into her body", she resolved to be even more circumspect about what she "put onto her body".

So began CBC. Cassandra purchased equipment and raw materials and began formulating and testing her own soaps, candles, shower gels, lotions, and many other bath/body and household products. She shared and received feedback on her creations from family, friends, professional associates, and others before determining she had a viable base to turn her interest into a full-fledged enterprise.
